Aaref is the President and CEO of Clearwell Systems, a pioneer in Email Intelligence funded by Sequoia Capital and Redpoint Ventures. Prior to Clearwell, he was Co-Founder, President and CEO of CenterRun, which he led from inception in 2000 to its acquisition by Sun Microsystems in August 2003. CenterRun was a leading provider of application provisioning software and today forms the basis of Sun's data center automation product suite.
Prior to CenterRun, he worked in corporate and business development at Excite@Home Networks, which at that time was one of the largest internet companies. He joined Excite@Home from The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a global management consulting company. At BCG, Aaref led projects advising Fortune 500 companies on a variety of sales, marketing and product development issues, with particular focus in the software and telecommunications industries.

Adnan is a seasoned technologist and entrepreneur with extensive experience in product development, sales, business development and marketing. Saad joined CMEA Ventures in February 2007 as a Partner and is focusing on the firm's software investments. Prior to joining CMEA, Saad was a Venture Partner and lead the advisory services group at Garage Technology Ventures (GTV), a seed stage venture fund. During his career at Garage, Saad focused on emerging technology investments in the software and digital media space, working closely with many companies including TripleHop (acquired by ORCL), cFares, and Savage Beast (Pandora). Before GTV, Saad worked for the IBM alphaWorks group in Cupertino, CA, focusing on commercializing IBM R&D. Saad also worked for the Strategic Planning and Business Development Groups at the Walt Disney Company, helping to develop the strategic and operating plans for ABC, ESPN and Disney's e-businesses. Saad received a B.S. degree in Symbolic Systems and an A.B in Economics with Honors in Science, Technology, and Society from Stanford University. He currently serves on the advisory board for several start-ups, including Kalat Software, Lending Club, and is a founding member of the FilmAngels.

Shazia is currently co-founder and CEO of ColorfulStories,
an early stage startup that allows people to quickly and easily
create customized children’s books, including learning
books, story books and memory books. Previously, she was a
principal at Outlook Ventures, where she sourced, evaluated
and negotiated early stage venture deals, with a focus on
consumer Internet. Prior to that, Shazia established a consulting

As an entrepreneur and industrialist, Syed Babar Ali envisioned and set up Packages Limited (Pakistan’s largest paper & board mill), Milkpak Limited – now Nestle Milkpak Limited - (one of the largest food processing companies in Pakistan especially liquid milk in Tetra Pak containers); Tetra Pak Pakistan Limited, International General Insurance Company of Pakistan Limited, Tri-Pack Films Limited, First International Investment Bank and Systems Private Limited. He is Chairman of Aventis Pakistan Limited, Bayer CropScience Pakistan Limited, Siemens Pakistan Engineering Company Limited, Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited and Director of Unilever Pakistan Limited and Mitchell’s Fruit Farms Limited. He believes in the joint venture philosophy and most of his businesses are joint ventures with major multinationals.
As an educationist, he envisioned and established Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 1985 of which he is the first Pro-Chancellor. LUMS is Pakistan’s premier management education institution. He also founded Ali Institute of Education for training of primary and secondary school teachers.
He promoted the cause of the World Wide Fund for Nature where he served in various capacities, both in Pakistan and internationally, from 1972 to 1996. He was International President of WWF from 1996 to 1999 succeeding HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. He is now Vice President Emeritus, WWF International.
He served as Pakistan’s Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs & Planning in 1993. He received honors and awards from the Government of Sweden, the Netherlands, an OBE from Britain (1997), and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Laws from McGill University, Montreal, Canada (1997).

Tom Byers

Tom Byers is a professor at Stanford University where he focuses on technology entrepreneurship education. He is founder and a faculty director of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP), which serves as the entrepreneurship center for the engineering school. STVP includes the Mayfield Fellows work/study program, Educators Corner website of teaching resources, and a set of global Roundtable on Entrepreneurship Education conferences. Tom is also a faculty director of the AEA/Stanford Executive Institute, a general management program for technology executives. Tom is co-author of a popular textbook called "Technology Ventures: From Idea to Enterprise" published by McGraw-Hill. Tom also holds visiting professor appointments at the London Business School and University College London.
Tom currently serves on the governing boards of Reactivity, MyThings, and Flywheel Ventures. Umair co-founded Clickmarks Inc., a Silicon Valley based enterprise software company. As CEO of Clickmarks Umair grew the company through $27 million in venture funding from investors such as Vodafone, DFJ, and Mitsubishi, and successfully took the company to profitability. In July 2005, Clickmarks was acquired by Semotus Inc., a publicly traded US company and a leader in mobile software.
Umair is also founder and chairman of Verisium, a Silicon Valley based software testing tools company founded in 2004. Umair is also the founder of Folio3, a Pakistan-based services company that focuses on providing offshore operations incubation to startups and other small companies.
Prior to this, Umair was founder and chairman of Wordwalla Inc., a venture backed company providing multilingual software solutions. Wordwalla was acquired in 2001 by Morisawa Corporation, a public company in Japan. He is also co-founder of Chowk, a niche portal focusing on South Asia. Umair started his career as part of the Itanium microprocessor group at Intel Corporation.
Umair has over 20 industry patents including four from his work at Intel and one for his graduate research at MIT. He has spoken on entrepreneurship at some of the country's top business schools, including MIT and Harvard, and has been profiled in publications such as USA Today, New York Times, and The Entrepreneur.
